MacOS Permissions

You may need to manually grant permission to access the Camera, Microphone or Screen share on macOS Catalina.

Voice permission

To grant permission to use the microphone, this is necessary for voice chat features to work, simply click ‘OK’ when the permissions prompt appears.

Troubleshooting: If you accidentally click ‘Don’t allow’, you can find this in System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy > Microphone, then click the tickbox next to your browser.

For video chat, the process is the same, simply visit System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy > Camera.

Screen Sharing Permission

Screen sharing permissions need to be explicitly granted. When commencing a screen share for the first time, a popup will appear.

Click the Apple Menu button and open ‘System Preferences’, this will take you straight to the corresponding panel, if you accidentally click ‘Deny’ or move to another window before clicking ‘Open System Preferences’, you can find this by going to System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy > Screen Recording.

Tick the padlock to make changes, enter your system password, then tick the checkbox next to your browser to enable screen sharing.Troubleshooting: If this is ticked automatically, and when you share your screen, but are unable to share windows other than the browser, untick the browser icon, press the ‘Later’ button, then tick the browser again, and again press ‘Later’.
